Tucked along Virginia’s scenic byways and embraced by the rolling Blue Ridge Mountains, Otium Cellars is where tradition meets inspiration. In the heart of Purcellville, this boutique winery blends old-world charm with a fresh, modern spirit.

Our story began in 2021, when Anita Tanamala first set foot on the property. Captivated by sweeping vineyard views—rooted in vines first planted in 2007—she envisioned a new chapter. The name itself, Otium, meaning “leisure” in Latin, perfectly reflected her philosophy. That same year, Anita brought her vision to life, infusing the winery with renewed energy, planting new vineyards in  Loudoun County, and guiding Otium into a vibrant new era.

Today, Otium flourishes as part of 70 picturesque acres at Tranquility Farm, where storybook grounds and lovingly restored historic structures provide a timeless backdrop. Every visit is an invitation to embrace the art of slowing down—whether savoring exceptional wines, enjoying thoughtfully prepared bites, or retreating to luxurious accommodations for a milestone celebration or a leisurely weekend escape.
